Rome's Leonardo da Vinci airport,
locally known as Fiumicino, was voted best airport in Europe in
2024 in the category of hubs with more than 40 million
passengers by the Airports Council International (ACI) World for
the quality of services offered to travellers.
The 'Giovan Battista Pastine' Ciampino airport in Rome was also
recognized as the best in Europe among hubs handling between 2
and 5 million passengers.
In particular, Fiumicino garnered a record 4.61 points out of a
maximum of 5 in 2024, ranking first among the 119 European
airports surveyed.
In addition to the Best Airport award, it was also the only
international hub, together with Singapore, to rank at the top
in all the sub-categories surveyed based on the feedback of
passengers including: Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff in
Europe; Easiest Airport Journey in Europe; Most Enjoyable
Airport in Europe; Cleanest Airport in Europe.
Fiumicino, which handled some 50 million passengers in 2024,
also recorded the highest satisfaction rate among the airports
with more than 25 million travellers a year in Europe, the
Middle East, Africa and the Americas, according to the survey
Airport Service Quality (ASQ) drafted by Airports Council
International (ACI) World in cooperation with Amadeus, a tech
company operating in the travel sector.
