The logic of weapons must not prevail
in Europe, Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, chair of the Italian Bishops
Conference (CEI) said Monday lauding the Italian government's
efforts to promote dialogue and peace.
"We watch with interest the efforts of the Italian government in
its intent to connect the growth of European responsibility to
intra-Western dialogue for the search for a just and lasting
peace and the indispensable multilateral vision in the
resolution of conflicts", said Zupp, who is also the papal envoy
for Ukraine.
"Europe must not be a set of distant institutions and "never
give up investing in dialogue as a method for resolving
conflicts, to not let the logic of weapons prevail, to not allow
the narrative of the inevitability of war to take hold", he
said.
