ANM President Cesare Parodi said
Saturday that the Italian magistrates union will take its
protest against the reform of the judiciary "everywhere".
Among other things, the Constitutional reform aims to separate
the career paths of prosecutors and judges so members of the
judiciary can no longer switch between the two roles.
Parodi said the ANM was aiming "to set up a whole series of
demonstrations, of meetings, to take our message to people who
may not have understood it or who may not even know it".
He said the union would have a meeting this month with President
Sergio Mattarella.
The government says the reform seeks to ensure judges are
impartial.
The ANM says it will weaken the judiciary and could place State
attorneys under the executive's control.
