C'è Ancora Domani, the fifth highest-grossing Italian film in history and actress Paola Cortellesi's directorial debut, opens the 'Cinema Italiano: i registi emergenti' film festival organised by the Shanghai Italian Cultural Institute together with the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai. For the occasion, Paola Cortellesi will be in the auditorium, at the Grand Theatre in Shanghai, to accompany her film, which begins distribution in cinemas throughout China.
The festival, organised in collaboration with the Istituto della Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani, the Apulia Film Commission, the Shanghai Film Distribution and Exhibition Association and with the support of the Shanghai Foreign Trade Institute (Ita/Ice), is curated by Marco Müller and Teng Junjie, and offers the opportunity to immerse oneself in the emotions evoked by the six selected films, designed for Chinese audiences.
The films, capable of making people laugh, moving and provoking strong reactions, are a cue to discover a new face of Italian cinema. On 8 and 11 March, the programme continues with the screening of Gloria by Margherita Vicario. Also on 8 March is the screening of Palazzina Laf by Michele Riondino, who will be live from Italy to listen to audience reactions to his debut film. On 9 March, Troppo Azzurro, the debut film by Filippo Barbagallo, will be screened. Also on 9 March, it will be the turn of Anywhere Anytime directed by Milad Tangshir, a director of Iranian origin, who will also be present to meet the public. Finally, on 10 March, the festival closes with Familia by Francesco Costabile.
