The Italian Embassy hosted yesterday the presentation of the TV miniseries based on the novel by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, 'The Leopard'. As of yesterday, the miniseries is also available to German audiences on Netflix. Ambassador Fabrizio Bucci welcomed Franziska Giffey, deputy mayor of Berlin and senator for the economy, energy and business, Matthias Doepfner, managing director of Axel Springer, Anne Laumen, head of communications at Netflix Germany, Luisa Cotta Ramosino, director of series at Netflix Italy, and actor Saul Nanni, who plays Tancredi Falconeri, to the embassy. The protagonists of the miniseries are also the Sicilian landscapes: filming took place mainly among the historical palaces of Palermo and in various locations in the provinces of Catania and Syracuse. "The German and international Netflix audience will thus have the opportunity to appreciate the charm and beauty of Sicily and to rediscover one of the most memorable novels of our post-war literature," stressed Ambassador Bucci.
