The Minister for Disabilities, Alessandra Locatelli, participated in the work of the 13th "Zero Project 2025" conference at the United Nations in Vienna, Austria. The Minister responded to the invitation of the organisers, who brought together for the occasion over a thousand participants from more than 90 countries to create a global platform for meeting and discussion on the theme of disability inclusion, focusing in particular on innovations in the field of employment and information and communication technologies (ICT) for persons with disabilities, as well as the need to promote inclusive employment opportunities and accessible solutions, aligning with the broader goals set by the UN General Assembly in preparation for the next World Social Summit in 2025.
The Minister, as the conference's keynote speaker, emphasised "the importance of involving as many actors as possible in order to give dignity to persons with disabilities in every sphere of daily life and in the living dimension, recalling the urgency of making services increasingly flexible and increasingly welcoming and interconnected with the territory and other realities".
He then attended a reception at Palazzo Metternich, jointly organised by the Ambassador to Austria, Giovanni Pugliese, and the Ambassador to International Organisations in Vienna, Debora Lepre. During the evening, the Minister greeted the participants of the 'Zero Project 2025' conference, inviting some of them to share their daily activities in favour of the inclusion of people with disabilities.
