The 39th edition of the International Food & Hospitality Fair Aahar opened today in Delhi, in the presence of the Indian Minister of Food Processing Shri Chirag Paswan. Italy is taking part in the fair with a collective of 10 companies, organised by the Ice office in New Delhi, which confirms the growing interest of our country's companies in this ever-growing market.
The exhibiting companies represent excellence in a number of Made in Italy production sectors including pasta, flour, olive oil, sauces, tomato, balsamic vinegar and truffle products. During the fair, the Ice office has scheduled a cooking show with the Italian chef of a well-known restaurant in the capital, who will present a menu using entirely products and ingredients provided by the exhibiting companies.
In 2024, India imported 29 billion euro worth of food and beverages globally; the market size of the sector is expected to reach almost $504.92 billion by 2030 with a growth rate of 11.05%.
"For Italian companies," emphasises Antonietta Baccanari, who heads the Ice office in New Delhi, "the current size of the F&B sector in India therefore shows great potential, both for exports and for investments in the country in food processing, distribution and Horeca.
