Italy is a protagonist at the Mobile World Congress 2025, one of the main trade fairs in the technology sector at global level, scheduled to run until 6 March in Barcelona, with the stand inaugurated yesterday by Consul General Emanuele Manzitti, set up by the Ice Madrid Office. For the occasion, the director of Ice Madrid, Giovanni Bifulco, the manager of the Capital Goods Office, Luca Durante, and former Italian footballer Christian Panucci were present, as part of the Lega Serie A's Ambassadors project, an international communication initiative to promote 'Made in Italy'.
The Ice collective on the Italian stand brings together 35 Italian small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups operating in the sectors of AI, digital training, sensor technology, marketing and corporate communication, sustainable mobility, telemedicine, cybersecurity and the internet of things.
Also present were 15 companies that were part of a delegation from the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy.
This is the eighth consecutive edition in which Italy is present at what is considered the most important technology fair in the world along with the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. And at which more than 100 thousand visitors are expected this year, between 3 and 6 March. During his visit to the Italian stand, Consul General Manzitti, accompanied by Ice Director Bifulco, met with a delegation from the EU Innovation Council.
In the evening, as has become tradition, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Barcelona, in collaboration with the Consulate General, organised a meeting at the IED on 3 March on 'Artificial Intelligence at the Service of Talent and Innovation'. Moderated by Renzo Spacone, co-founder of Jet -Japan Europe Teamwork, the round table saw among the main speakers Aldo Sollazzo (ceo of Noumena Data), Fabrizio Tonnarelli (ceo of Leviahub Spain), Ricard Bianco (sales and partnership manager of nCore HR), Pier Paolo Rossi (senior advisor of Koob Advisory) and Renato Senta (managing director Iberia of Technogym).
The work of the round table was opened by Chamber of Commerce President Igor Garzesi and the Consul General, who noted how 'AI, new technologies and innovation are strategic factors for winning the challenge of competitiveness' . And how 'our companies are uniquely able to combine tradition and innovation, which are key factors in the success of Made in Italy in the world'.
During the debate, it was emphasised that the adoption of AI is now a compulsory choice for companies: a valuable tool, which must be used consciously, to make the most of its potential, adapting it to business needs. The topics discussed highlighted the importance of human capital, which AI cannot replace, but which it can enhance and optimise.
