With the signing of the agreement between Italy and the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine, the transfer of 13 million euro for the stabilisation of energy supplies was initiated. Present at the ceremony, in Kiev, were the Ukrainian Deputy Energy Minister, Roman Andarak, and the Ambassador to Ukraine, Carlo Formosa.
"Italy's contribution is one of the most significant to the Fund by a single country and will help stabilise electricity supplies in the heart of winter for millions of Ukrainians affected by the war," the ambassador noted. Italy's unwavering humanitarian support continues: by listening carefully to Ukrainian needs, we have focused on a priority sector for the functioning of society, and today's signing allows for the transfer of these significant resources to an instrument that guarantees the rapid and effective purchase of the equipment that the country so badly needs to strengthen its energy supply," he stressed.
The signing was also attended by the Head of the Fund's Office in Ukraine, Oleksii Orzhel, and the representative of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in Kiev, Luca De Filicaia.
