The Italian Consul General in Barcelona, Emanuele Manzitti, was received by the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Salvador Illa. During the meeting, which was also attended by Councillor Jaume Duch, head of the Catalan government's Department for European Union and International Affairs, the excellent relations that bind Italy and Spain, in various respects, and the important results achieved in the collaboration between the two countries, also thanks to the development and strengthening of relations between various regions, were emphasised.
The Consul General thanked the President for the excellent cooperation ensured by the Catalan Government and stressed the valuable contribution made to strengthening ties between our countries by the presence of a large Italian community in Catalonia.
Prior to his meeting with President Illa, the Consul General was received by Councillor Miquel Sàmper, head of the Department of Industry and Employment, with whom he emphasised the excellent economic relations between Catalonia and Italy and stressed Italy's qualified participation in the forthcoming Mobile World Congress.
In the meeting held by Consul General Manzitti with Mayor Jaume Collboni in the Ayuntament Palace, Barcelona's strong ties with Italy and its main cities were also reaffirmed, highlighting collaboration in sectors of common interest also within the European Union.
