The Ambassador of Italy to Canada, Alessandro Cattaneo, was received by the Speaker of the Canadian Chamber of Deputies, Greg Fergus.
The focus of the cordial conversation was a common reflection on the most topical issues on the international agenda, starting with the war in Ukraine and in the context of the G7 Presidency, which Canada will hold this year after the Italian Presidency.
Fergus and Cattaneo agreed on the excellent state of bilateral relations between Canada and Italy in all dimensions and on the need to work for their further strengthening, also in the interest of strengthening ties between Canada and the European Union and consolidating NATO and the broader transatlantic community.
