The Italian Embassy in the Dominican Republic organised an event to welcome piano Maestro Antonio Pompa-Baldi, on the occasion of the training course he is holding for young Dominican talents. The project is a collaboration between the Fundación Sinfonía and the National Conservatory.
The event was an acknowledgement of the important contribution of Maestro Pompa-Baldi, director of the piano department at the Cleveland Music Institute and internationally renowned artist, who has given concerts in numerous countries around the world. With this initiative, the Fundación Sinfonía aims to enrich the training of young Dominican pianists, offering them the opportunity to study with an expert of international calibre, also known for his commitment to music education.
The evening was also an opportunity to foster dialogue with Dominican cultural institutions and to highlight the central role of the Italian musical tradition in the international art scene, as well as to explore future collaborations.
The dinner, hosted by Ambassador Stefano Queirolo Palmas, was attended by leading figures from the Dominican cultural scene, including Liza Alvarez Baher, Director of International Relations at the Ministry of Culture, Margarita Miranda de Mitrov, President of the Fundación Sinfonía Marinella Sallent, Director of the School of Fine Arts, the Director of the magazine Ritmo Social, Rosanna Rivera, the representative of the Copello family and historic promoter of classical music in the Dominican Republic Marisol Rodriguez, and Maestro José Antonio Molina, Director of the National Symphony Orchestra. Representatives of the Italian community active in cultural promotion were also present, including Renzo Serravalle, President of Casa d'Italia, Francesco Gravinia, Head of Culture at COMITES, and Paolo Dussich, CGIE Delegate.
The event reaffirmed the link between Italy and the Dominican Republic in the field of culture and music, promoting new synergies between institutions and emerging talents.
