Italy is participating in the role of Country Partner at the Bengaluru Space Expo 2024, now in its eighth edition, which opened today at the Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre.
"Thanks to our role as a leading power in space innovation, Italy has decided to bet on this occasion and bring to the capital of Karnataka an extensive representation composed of representatives from the business, scientific and diplomatic communities," says Alfonso Tagliaferri, Italian Consul General in Bengaluru.
"Our participation in the Expo," adds Antonietta Baccanari, who heads the Ice office in New Delhi, "is intended to underline our country's commitment to international cooperation in the space sector: by working alongside India's fast-growing industry ecosystem, we are laying the foundations for innovation that will generate economic development and employment opportunities for both nations.
"Collaboration in the sector between Italy and India dates back informally to 2000; since then, after the first formal agreement was signed in 2005, the partnership has seen continuous growth," explains Professor Sergio Ledda, Scientific Chargé at the Italian Embassy in New Delhi.
A special presentation session is scheduled for tomorrow with Consul Tagliaferri, Sergio Ledda, and representatives of some leading Italian companies, including Leonardo, ELT Group, DAVI - Promau and Officina Stellare.
