On the occasion of the first Day of Italian Sport in the World, the Embassy of Italy in Copenhagen, in collaboration with IIISSS and Sport4Impact, hosted a day of immersion in the world of sport as a bridge between cultures and lifestyles, between territory and tourism at the residence in Fredericiagade 2. During the event, reports a note from the embassy, two in-depth sessions were held with experts and representatives of public and private organisations from Italian and Danish bodies to reflect on the strong correlations between sport, wellness, lifestyle and tourism. Sport, the note emphasised, is a vehicle of strategic importance both for discovering new territories - also through major sporting events of international appeal, first and foremost the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games - and for promoting personal wellbeing and inclusion in society.
The Day of Italian Sport in the World also provided an opportunity to discover the area in which the Italian Embassy operates in Denmark. In fact, an urban bike ride took place for Italian and Danish friends in Copenhagen, starting from the residence, to discover the city's picturesque corners and ending at the prestigious Danish Royal Yacht Club in Hellerup. The event took place in a context of interlocutions and dialogues between Danish and Italian bodies aimed at defining long-term partnerships for the promotion of the social and cultural role of sport, both bilaterally and within the framework of the European Union. Various projects were considered for discussion in the coming weeks, involving the youngest ones as well. Sport - it was the conclusion - has been uniting Italy and Denmark for a long time and from today it has become a stronger bond to grow mutual knowledge and goals to be achieved together.
