Italy's metalworking trade unions FIM
CISL, FIOM CGIL and UILM UIL on Wednesday announced an
eight-hour national strike on March 28 and protests across
Italian regions after unsatisfactory talks with employers in
November.
Unions are demanding to resume negotiations with the sector's
business association Assistal and the Italian federation of
metalworking companies Federmeccanica to renew their national
contract.
The contract, which expired at the end of June 2024, concerns
some 1.5 million workers.
