A two-seater plane that had departed
on Tuesday morning from Pavullo nel Frignano near Modena has
been reported missing in the Apennines and the last radar signal
was registered near Sassalbo in the province of Massa Carrara in
Tuscany, local authorities said Wednesday.
Search operations are being carried out by the Alpine rescue
service, Carabinieri police and the Air Force, including in the
neighbouring province of Reggio Emilia, rescue services said.
A thick fog in the area is making operations more difficult,
they said.
