The number of people in employment in
Italy was up by 337,000 (1.4%) in June with respect to the same
month in 2023, according to provisional data released by Istat
on Thursday.
The national statistics agency said that had taken the
employment rate up by 0.7 of a percentage point in 12 months to
62.2%.
Istat said the number of people in work was up by 25,000 (0.1%)
with respect to May.
It said unemployment rate rose to 7.0%, up 0.1 of a point on
May, and the jobless rate for under-25s who are active on the
labour market was also up by 0.1 of a point to 20.5%.
The inactivity rate fell by 0.1 of a point to 33.0%.
