Premier Giorgia Meloni said Saturday
that there is still a long way to go to achieve sexual equality
in Italy in a message on social media on International Women's
Day.
While expressing satisfaction at the number of women in
employment here reaching an "all-time high" of over 10 million,
she added that "we know that much remains to be done for full
equality in every field.
"Women no longer have to choose between career and private
life," continued Italy's first female prime minister.
"Equality means ensuring that all women have the conditions to
realise themselves fully, without sacrificing either work or
family life.
"We will continue to work to create the opportunities that allow
every woman to express her full potential, without limits and
without barriers".
