The cabinet on Friday challenged
Tuscany's recent law aimed at curbing short-term rentals to help
curb overtourism and the hollowing out of city centres like
Florence.
"The Meloni government has challenged the Tuscany Region law on
short-term rentals," said the Tuscan senator of Meloni's
Brothers of Italy (FdI) party, Paolo Marcheschi.
"This is a necessary act against yet another unrealistic attempt
to make laws by ourselves. On the part of the left that governs
Tuscany, this is a leap forward by those who say they are
against autonomy and then make laws independently, so it is good
that this provision has arrived from our executive".
