Pope Francis slept well during the
night and is now resting, the Vatican Press Office said early on
Thursday morning.
In an evening medical bulletin released late on Wednesday, the
Vatican said the pontiff suffered no further respiratory crises
as he battles pneumonia in a Rome hospital but his prognosis
remains guarded.
"Today's blood tests and haematocytometric tests" "confirmed
yesterday's improvement" explains the medical bulletin released
last evening on the conditions of the pope hospitalized at the
Agostino Gemelli Hospital.
The Holy Father, the note continues, "continues high-flow oxygen
therapy; today too he did not present asthmatic respiratory
crises. Respiratory physiotherapy continues".
"Despite registering a slight improvement, the prognosis remains
reserved", the bulletin explained.
